A Conference on “Following Our Roots-13: Famous Siberian Traveler Abdurresid Ibrahim” Was Held at Our University

The thirteenth conference of the "Following Our Roots" conference series organized by the Turkish Language Learning, Research and Application Center (TÖMER) of our university was held online.

Our Rector Prof. Dr. Musa Yıldız, Director of TÖMER Prof. Dr. Nezir Temur, as a speaker Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University Faculty of Letters Prof. Dr. İsmail Turkoglu, academicians and students attended to the conference.

 

The conference moderated with Lecturer Dr. Mehmet Er and strated our. It started with the opening speech of Rector Prof. Dr Musa Yıldız. and Prof. Dr. Musa Yıldız started his speech by expressing his thanks to everyone who contributed to the organisation of the conference on "Siberian Famous Traveller Abdurresid Ibrahim", which is the thirteenth of the series of conferences titled "On Following of Our Roots", and Prof. Dr. İsmail Turkoglu, who attended the conference and shared his vast knowledge on the subject with us.

Giving information about the life and works of the great Siberian traveler Abdurresid Ibrahim, Prof. Dr. Musa Yıldız said “It is our duty of loyalty to know and introduce our ancestors and to remember them with prayer. It is essential for young people to know their ancestors in order to grow up with a national consciousness, to be good citizens and to be loyal supporters of their nation. Prof. Dr. Musa Yıldız emphasized the necessity of recognizing the ancestors by quoting the words of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the founder of our university, "As a Turkish child gets to know his ancestor, he will find strength in himself to do greater things."

After speaking of Prof. Dr. Musa Yıldız's speech, Prof. Dr. İsmail Turkoğlu thanked those who contributed to the conference. Starting his conference with a Kazakh proverb, Prof. Dr. Turkoglu said, “Know the value of the living. Know the graves of the dead.". He drew attention to the importance of commemorating the important figures in our history by saying. Sharing information about the life of Abdurresid Ibrahim, Prof. Dr. İsmail Turkoglu said, “Abdurresid Ibrahim was orphaned and orphaned at a young age. He was determined to read and learn from an early age. Abdurresid Ibrahim's Red Apple was about to study to the holy lands of Medina or Mecca.”. Prof. Dr. Turkoglu also gave information about Abdurresid Ibrahim's travels and the traces where he left there.
