Teaching Turkish as a Foreign Language Certificate Program

Detailed information about the distance education program organized in cooperation with Gazi University Distance Education Application and Research Center (GUZEM) and Turkish Learning, Research and Application Center (TÖMER) is given below.

The Certificate Program in Teaching Turkish as a Foreign Language will be given in the form of online courses by expert lecturers working at Gazi University Turkish Learning, Research and Application Center. "Certificate" will be issued to the participants at the end of the course.

The course will be conducted through the GUZEM learning management system (ÖYS) between the relevant dates. A new user account will be opened in ÖYS by GUZEM for the participants who have registered. Participants will follow the course by logging into ÖYS at lms.gazi.edu.tr with the user account and password notified to them. Participants will be able to attend online lessons the virtual classroom software on the days and times specified in the ÖYS during the course period. Before the courses, the participants will be given orientation courses about ÖYS and virtual classroom software by GUZEM expert staff. Each lesson will be recorded in the system and can be watched again by the participants later. Course instructor(s) will be able to share learning content with the participants via ÖYS when they deem necessary.

Note: Candidates who will apply during the pre-registration phase are requested to deposit 10% of the non-discounted course fee. The courses will be opened if the required number is reached after the requests are collected. GUZEM reserves the right to postpone and/or cancel the said distance education event. The pre-registration payments made by the participants are refunded in case of cancellation of the course by GUZEM. The fees paid for the pre-registration of the participants who do not make the final registration for the opened courses although they have made a pre-registration application will not be refunded.

Note: In case the course reaches the quorum in the pre-registration, the remainder of the course fee will be paid in the final registration. Participants who want to benefit from the discounted fee are requested to upload the discount document showing the participant type to the system during pre-registration and to deposit the remaining fee of the course at the discounted fee.

CONTENT- TARGET: In the context of teaching Turkish as a foreign/second language, management of teaching processes in multicultural classes, four basic language skills, grammar, cultural interaction, contemporary methods and techniques in teaching, material preparation-adaptation and use, field-specific assessment. -preparation and use of assessment tools, distance education and exams, etc. Training will be provided on the subject.

30 hours of theoretical, 20 hours of practical courses*

* Practical courses can be held online or face-to-face depending on the course of the COVID-19 global epidemic, and Gazi University TÖMER reserves the right to organize and change.

REGISTRATION PROCESS

You have to fill in the required information on the pre-registration screen.

You have to upload the documents requested from you on the pre-registration screen.

During the pre-registration process, you are requested to deposit 10% of the non-discounted course fee.

The remaining fee will be requested during the final registration process, depending on the type of participant.
